About the project
A dream born in the desert
In 2021, Alejandro Susunaga, visual artist and founder of Casa Tamatsi, began building a dream: a temple for artistic creation in the Mexican desert of Wirikuta. This project is not only a physical space but a work of art in itself. Inspired by the majesty and sacred energy of the surroundings, Alejandro envisioned a place where introspection and creativity could flourish in harmony with nature.
Built with respect and simplicity
Building this space in the middle of the desert has not been an easy task. From its foundations to every detail, it has been constructed using simple resources and respecting local building techniques. This approach not only minimizes environmental impact but also honors the surrounding reality of the project.
A place for essential art
Casa Tamatsi arises from the need and desire to revive essential art as a tool for personal and collective transformation. More than a physical space, it is an environment that invites artists to explore and share new ideas and projects, fostering artistic and spiritual renewal.
An expanding project
Currently, we are ready to welcome artists and pursue our mission. Still, the project is in a developmental phase and requires strategic partnerships to continue building facilities that enhance the professional experience of our residents.
